I just got Photoshop to make beautiful images and I am excited, but I dakno how to use it: /. I heard people often take something and then explore more there and then add color and effects. Is this how you do it? To make beautiful images that appear bright and vibrant colors? I’m happy cuz This painting is much better (lol), but is also a source of confusion lil!? Please help me! I have a scanner but I am considering buying one just for her. . ? I do not use the photos. . I wanted to make something from scratch. .

choose a photo to edit, clik open and open that photo and start to mock around with the layers…
I’d suggest taking a class. What you can do to play with it is to right click on any photograph you have stored on your computer and select “Open with” command. Choose photoshop and just say yes to any dialog boxes.
Go into the adustment menu and experiment with brightness, color, etc. After each adjustment you can just hit Control+Z to undo what you just did. If you really mess up you can Control+Z several times to get back where you were.
You can use “Filters” to add effects and have some fun. But it’s well worth the money to take a night class and learn more about photoShop. you can do amazing stuff when you know the tools. Good luck!

When I do my CG pieces in Photoshop I usually start out with a scanned (and very messy!) sketch. After that, I may or may not do lineart using the Pen tool and occasionally with a borrowed graphics tablet.
Then, I proceed to fill in base color for each area (e.g skin, hair etc.), after which I create a new layer, group it with the base-color layer and then do shadows.
It’s important to use new layers for each major graphic element of the picture (if your computer can handle it) because this way you can freely edit your layer without affecting the other parts of the picture.
As for adding effects, I seldom do it, but the Photoshop built-in filters might be of use to you.
[edit] It’s very worth it to buy a good scanner if you’re interested in digital art.
I usually scan my work in and then colour it in photoshop. Sometimes i’ll do my sketching right in photoshop or illustrator but it can be difficult to control using a mouse.
There are a good number of tutorials that you can find online which I’ve provided a couple with.
If you want to do coloured work I would recommend getting a scanner, drawing you pictures and then adding colour later.
