I modeled a humanoid head and configured shape keys in order to make facial animation. This was an experiment to prepare me to move on to something more elaborate. I would like for any animators with more experience than myself to offer critique on this test, namely an assessment of what I’m good at so far and what I need to improve on. Thanks!

Saturday, March 13th, 2010Babies with Laser Eyes Photoshop Tutorial
Thursday, March 11th, 2010
This is a simple how-to for giving babies laser eyes in photoshop. Here are the steps written out. Find a baby picture. It will be simpler if the baby is looking off to the side and is NOT on a white background. Create a new layer above the baby pic. Using the polygon lasso tool, draw a laser shape, starting at the pupil. I like to flare the beam out to give it some perspective. Once you have the shape with the dancing ants, fill with white. Double click on the layer to bring up the Layer Style box. Choose Outer glow and change the color to bright red or your color of choice. Increase the size of the outer glow until it looks glowy enough. If it looks too sharp, add a slight gaussian blur. Usually 1 or less. If it does not look glowy enough, duplicate the layer. Thats the basic technique. Some babies can get more complicated and require more improvising. So if you get frustrated, you might try a different baby pic for better results.

ZBRUSH 3 TIME-LAPSE HEAD SCULPTURE
Saturday, February 13th, 2010
this is about my 3rd or 4th time to mess around with Zbrush 3…i was still learning as this video progressed. i thought it looked cool enough to have others check it out. Lemme know what you think. btw, to help other newbies, i started with the move brush with a large brush size to push the cube into the shade i wanted, then i used clay and clay tubes brushes to further shape the head, i used inflate to get the skull larger and then i used layer to make the ears and the hair.

Sketching a character in ZBrush 3.1 2 hours of modeling, first I use move tool to get the overall shape, later flat brush. First I focus on the bone structure and after that the principals muscles groups. I change my brush settings a lot during the process. There is no detailing yet. Zbrush retopology

An alternate way to build complex RT mesh, using retopology over rough Zbrush sculpt. I like this method, gives more control of shape and silhouette.
