This video will show two things in zbrush. The first is a trick you can do if you want to edit topology but do not want to have to rebuild the only mesh. All you want to do is add to current topology. The second part will show you how to use the first trick in order to combine multiple tools by using zbrushes retopology tools.

You need to know your Blender basics for this stuff as the process uses ‘core’ tools available (nothing ’special’ is being used here). Loading a height map (gray-scale image) into Blender to use as the basis to make and then sculpt a terrain mesh. The video (no audio) shows the basic process and principles involved in getting better terrain than is normally had relying on just using height-maps alone. This isn’t meant to be a finished terrain but instead show a process. More info at www.katsbits.com or ask questions in the comments section.

Dragon Series – Model 1 Zbrush Sculpt (Part 1)

Here is the first part of the sculpt. Cage mesh made in blender, sculpting in Zbrush. I sped this one up a little bit because there is quite a bit of manual smoothing/defining. I did not want to subdivide this smooth, because my model was pretty defined in its cage. Subdividing smooth just sentences you to designing almost all of the detailing in zbrush, and I put too much time in blender to do that.
