Animated 3D Materials

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

As the experience of your 3D user interface, you’re probably aware of the possibility of animating materials. As with anything else in MAX when it might be a counter, you animate. In addition, each animation parameters in the material editor to use special animation controller, and new motion capture function. The power of 3D animation of your application is truly amazing.

With this raw power, but is not refined features, you must change to get the desired effect. Translation: There is no real presets. You can not say “give me water,” and wait for your 3D application to make it perfectly right of the door. You must set the values of a good deal to make “fair”.

Like all things, if you’re an animator, graphic designer, or both, you need not only the tools you have, but how to make the best of their knowledge. When it comes to stimulating materials, there are several directions to choose. Before this chapter, you should familiarize yourself with the possibilities of 3D animation of your application, and the basic concepts of animation material.

This chapter does not apply to fundamental aspects such as the diffuse color of an invigorating material. See the 3D process or your paper application tutorials on the material editor or the request reference 3D online for more information on the source. Explore topics such as:

* Facilitate natural materials. * Animation of artificial materials. * Maps to use either with artificial materials or natural materials.

Whenever you work with materials of animation, remember to use the preview feature material. This way you can mimic the animation of materials in the scene, without a complete record.
