Cinema 4D Tutorial – Modeling a MP3 Player – Part 1

Written by 3D Max on January 17th, 2010

This is the first part of the tutorial on modeling the mp3 player. Depending on feedback, ill either continue with it, or just stop and not make anymore. I dont see the need to make a lot of tutorials if they are not wanted, or watched, as im limited with my free time. If you would like me to complete this tutorial, let me know… or if you have any ideas or suggestions for another tutorial, you’re welcome to comment and let me know.

Great video! I’m also new to C4D, and haven’t done much 3D before.

I have one problem though, at appr. 3:27 when scaling those points upwards, I can’t scale like you show on this video. I get 4 additional points wich doesn’t scale as high as I would like. I get the same problem with it when I scale those in Y -axis. Can you help? Do I have some display options different from you or why does it do that?

    Thank you

    Glad it helped you.

I plan to make some more when I have the time.

Thank you so much for doing this ‘polygon’ modeling tutorial.
I can never seem to find a good, well explained video of step-by-step instruction for Cinema 4D. I have been struggling with polygon and Hypernurbs modeling for a while.
Please do more simple, common items. [example: a page that has some thickness and some natural looking curling. No page sits flat on a table]

    You’re welcome!

The simplest 3D software ive used is Cinema 4D. It was what I first started with, and still use it today for work.

There are other more simpler (and free) 3D packages like Blender and Sketchup, but ive never used them before.

so many tutorials are sped up 2 minute clips, with no actually teaching, you slow down and speak clearly over what to do, THANK YOU!
i have autodesk 3ds max, but it’s a little complex for my tastes, can you recommend a simple 3d animation software? i’m just making little cartoons.

  6. ShepperdOneill says:

    That is so cool!

Im glad that he is learning from them. :)

in fact, my 14 yr old son is the biggest fan of your movies… and he actually sucks in every detailed bit of info you give just by watching the movie once… what a miracle! I’ve learned the bits I know with Infini-D 15 years ago and I have to see your movies three times to grasp everything ;-)

  8. ShepperdOneill says:

    You’re welcome!

Just really busy with work right now. Dont have much time to make tutorials.
