I aspire to learn computer animation as a hobby, nothing serious. . . just something to do for fun outside of my grad studies. I read the comments / articles on lots of packages and have reduced my interest down to one of the following: Maya, Cinema 4D and Lightwave 3D.Sono interested to know which of the 3 software packages that have been recommended for an amateur 3d animation? Oh, and am currently using the Maya PLE. The large number of menu / options seem insurmountable! Thank you!

This is a compilation of several very short “doodles” I created using the Lightwave 3D software. Most are looping one or two second tests and have no real application. I do this entirely for diversion and do not claim to be anywhere near professional. The score is original. It is called “Heartbeat of the Day” and will one day have lyrics (when I can find more precious time). Enjoy!

I know there are specialized courses to learn 3D modeling schools, but unfortunately I have not found one. I get a lot of manga and anime and I want to start making some short films in 3D. Im only 13 and I need somthing free to download and easy, I tried Blender, but its so hard and I’m confused, could not understand. I just need something with something too powerful to be used so that it can circulate and 3D, I want to try Lightwave, but I’m a Windows user. I want a Mac, but as I told my parents and choosing not to buy the computer myself.
