nice vid for beginners and by the way you dont have to go all the way down to the command line, you could just type it in anywhere like how you type in how far or anything like that

It depends on the level of experience your students have with autoCAD if they havent seen it before, orient them with the menus and toolbars then basic commands then challenge them with drawing simple drawings before throwing a floor plan at them. Then if they draw the floor plan easily introduce them to the Z axis and get them going in 3d.

Im glad that the function of autocad hasnt changed ive been using the classic format for 6 years now. I just have to spend a shitload of time finding everything on the toolbar.

Yeah, double click scroll (unless you have a logitech mouse) and you have your zoom extents.

Thanks for the tutorial, Its informative and easy to follow.

  14. 25924637 says:

It appear that if one double clicks on the scroll wheel it zooms to extents.

Thanks Kevin, a nice introduction but I can assure you that ‘align’ is nothing new in Acad. I am using different acad versions for years now and as long as I remember, the align command has alwasy been there. Still a nice clear presentation. Thanks mate. Joe

  19. hedgehogtk says:

no offense nyustdent, but if you teach a class, you’re supposed to know what topics you should cover. right?

  20. nyustdent says:

I will be teaching a bunch of students, what topics should i cover so they can make their own floor plan

Ohhh ok thanks heaps for the info and this tutorial.

  22. SoftwareMedia says:

AutoCAD LT is a lite version of AutoCAD. With LT there are no 3D modeling capabilities. AutoCAD 2010 has all the features of LT, plus additional tools.

  23. azn80149 says:

Just wondering, but is there a difference between AutoCad 2010 and AutoCad 2010 LT? Cause I only have the 2010 one, no LT.
